About the position

The Quantitative and Qualitative Analyst SME position at Spathe Systems involves applying advanced analytical techniques to support decision-making processes within the J5 division. This role is critical in developing mathematical models, conducting simulations, and providing recommendations for military operations and training. The position requires collaboration with military services to enhance integration and interoperability among special operations and conventional forces.

Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to the J5 decision-making process.
  • Develop and apply advanced mathematical and analytical models, probability models, statistical inference, simulations, optimization, and economic models.
  • Examine information to determine relevance to problems and recommend methods for analysis.
  • Provide recommendations for future component and Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) capability solutions.
  • Perform pre and post wargame, experimentation, and concept development analysis.
  • Support collaboration with Military Services to improve integration and interoperability.
  • Provide SOF SME support through all phases of project development.
  • Assist in implementing and integrating appropriate M&S tool sets for trade space studies.
  • Prepare briefs, information papers, and presentations using Microsoft Office products.
  • Develop and maintain an electronic resource for mission continuity accessible by stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations research, mathematics and statistics, industrial and systems engineering, economics, physics, or computer science.
  • Certified as an Operations Research/Systems Analyst (ORSA).
  • 5 years' experience as an ORSA supporting any DoD agency within the past 10 years.
  • Graduate of any senior service college (e.g., Army School of Advanced Military Studies).
  • 3 years of experience developing and presenting products at the 06-level command staff.
  • 5 years' experience using Microsoft Office products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with military applications of operations research.
  • Familiarity with wargaming and experimentation methodologies.
