About the position

The Quantitative Model Analyst at U.S. Bank is responsible for reviewing, validating, and overseeing the usage of complex statistical models that inform financial decision-making. This role involves documenting validation testing, producing deliverables, executing validation review plans, and analyzing model performance using programming languages such as Python, SAS, and R. The position may allow for remote work within commuting distance of the worksite.

Responsibilities

  • Review, validate, and oversee usage of complex statistical models used in financial decision-making.
  • Document validation testing of advanced statistical models and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Produce deliverables including validation documentation, presentations, and reports.
  • Execute validation review plans to assess model risk throughout the model lifecycle.
  • Conduct independent validation tests using Python, SAS, or R programming languages.
  • Analyze model performance testing through various methods such as backtesting and bad rate analysis.
  • Build benchmark/challenger models using machine learning techniques.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, or Quantitative Finance.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a quantitative analyst, economic analyst, or closely related occupation.
  • Experience in financial services in a model risk role.
  • Experience executing review plans to assess model risk across the model lifecycle.
  • Experience conducting independent analysis for high model-risk areas using data and analytical tools.
  • Experience performing detailed documentation reviews including model development and monitoring documentation.
  • Ability to provide and communicate recommendations to stakeholders for compliance with MRM policy and regulatory requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, or Quantitative Finance with at least 6 years of experience as a quantitative analyst or related occupation.
