About the position

The Quantitative Research Analyst program at MIO is tailored for individuals aspiring to build a career in investment management. This role is integral to the MIO team, which specializes in asset class-specific and cross-asset class market research, as well as macroeconomic research. The primary focus is on assessing investment opportunities and managing portfolio exposures by monitoring global economic conditions, analyzing historical asset returns, and quantifying the relationships between economic conditions and market performance. The asset classes covered include equities, fixed income, credit, commodities, and foreign exchange (FX), among others. As a Quantitative Research Analyst, you will be expected to support the creation of new research and maintain existing research. This involves quickly familiarizing yourself with the quantitative research agenda and developing expertise in specific content areas. You will collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Investment Research Managers to establish conceptual and technical approaches, select raw data inputs, and produce research outputs, such as dashboards and white papers. Additionally, you will take ownership of existing research, enhancing its content, usability, and visual quality, while also managing processes to keep research outputs updated. Your role will also include systematizing MIO's quantitative research, standardizing production processes, and managing a portion of the quantitative research database. This may involve working closely with the Investment IT team to optimize data sourcing across the organization. Furthermore, you may support Portfolio Managers in implementing and monitoring trades, providing insights and validation for their strategies and hypotheses.
