About the position

The Quantitative Researcher II at SEIU 775 Benefits Group plays a crucial role in understanding the impact of health, training, and retirement benefits on caregivers and stakeholders. This position involves using mixed methodologies to design studies, analyze data, and present insights to various audiences. The researcher will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure high-quality research that informs decision-making and improves the organization's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape the research agenda and drive research projects from end-to-end.
  • Collaborate with research and business teams to define relevant questions and apply usable measurement strategies and methodologies.
  • Develop novel approaches where traditional methods won't do.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations clearly to relevant audiences.
  • Design, implement and manage all phases of study, including developing research proposals and conducting analyses.
  • Complete formative market research/literature reviews and distill primary findings for the organization.
  • Scope research questions that encapsulate business problems and develop qualitative interview guides or surveys.
  • Develop an evaluation framework for measuring the impact of services, products, or training provided by the Benefits Group.
  • Share best practices for research with key internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate internal buy-in across the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Drive interpretation and presentation of research results in a user-friendly fashion, including creating dashboards and reports.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in public health, survey research, economics, statistics, informatics, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5+ years' experience in health care, public health, market research, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in quantitative and survey research methodologies.
  • Comfort with data manipulation and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Stata, SQL, Python).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives.
  • A proactive mindset to anticipate business needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience with caregiving, healthcare, labor unions, non-profit, government, or social services.
  • Fluency in languages such as Russian, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Ukrainian, Arabic, Khmer, Punjabi, or Somali.
  • Experience researching workforce development, turnover, and retention.
  • Knowledge of MedInsight and/or health care claims data.
