About the position

The Quantitative Sustainable Investing Internship at Fidelity Investments offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in meaningful work that impacts financial decision-making. This internship is designed for those who are currently pursuing a Master's degree and have a strong interest in quantitative analysis and research within the realm of sustainable investing. Interns will work closely with analysts and portfolio managers to conduct research and development on quantitative Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, models, and ratings. This role is not just about gaining experience; it is about contributing to the development of sustainable investment strategies that align with Fidelity's mission of making financial expertise accessible to all. Interns will be involved in various projects that require analytical thinking and technical skills. They will partner with other quantitative researchers to evaluate complex datasets, develop new models that facilitate research and portfolio construction, and collaborate with team members to design sustainable investment strategies. The internship will also involve creating new analytical tools that incorporate sustainability considerations into the portfolio management process. This hands-on experience will not only enhance the interns' resumes but also provide them with valuable insights into the asset management industry and the importance of sustainability in investment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with other quant researchers to evaluate complex data.
  • Developing new models to facilitate the research and portfolio construction process.

  • Developing new analytical tools to incorporate sustainability considerations into the portfolio management process.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and working towards a Master's degree during Summer 2024.
  • Demonstrated experience/interest/skill in quantitative analysis or research.
  • Academic or intellectual interest in financial markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Programming and database skills in Python, SQL, Java, C, C#, C++, and similar languages.
