About the position

Our UX Research team is dedicated to understanding the diverse needs of users globally, which requires a deep comprehension of human behaviors. Our researchers face complex challenges to gain insights into how individuals interact with each other and their environments. This role is crucial in contributing innovative ideas to products that significantly impact the experiences of billions of users worldwide. We are seeking an experienced individual contributor who can enhance the research practice through creative yet rigorous qualitative, quantitative, and design research methods. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, passionate about understanding people, and curious about the interplay between data, technology, and society. They should thrive in a flat, fast-paced organization and excel in collaboration. This job description encompasses various UX Research opportunities for full-time new graduate roles across Meta's family of apps and services. As a Quantitative UX Researcher, you will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive primary research using a variety of methods. You will work closely with product teams and fellow researchers to identify critical research questions and act as a thought leader in the field, advocating for the users of our products. Your insights will shape the medium and long-term product strategies of our teams. You will also be tasked with communicating results and illustrating suggestions in compelling and creative ways, while collaborating cross-functionally with design, product management, data science, content strategy, engineering, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research using a wide variety of methods.
  • Work closely with product teams and other researchers to identify important research questions.
  • Act as a thought leader in research, advocating for users of our products.
  • Generate insights that shape product teams' medium and long-term strategies.
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product management, data science, content strategy, engineering, and marketing.

Requirements

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining an MA/MS in a human behavior-related field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Anthropology, Information Science, Computer Science, or Political Science.
  • Knowledge of research methods in at least one subset of methods (e.g., survey design and quantitative data analysis, ethnography) - qualitative and/or quantitative research.
  • Experience conveying research findings and implications to various audiences.
  • Analytical, project management, and problem-solving experience.
  • Experience with autonomy and independent decision-making to weigh tradeoffs and balance demands.
  • Experience mentoring other researchers and maintaining the team's standard of work.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with consumer products, consumer insights, or product research.
  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in a human behavior-related field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Anthropology, Information Science, Computer Science, or Political Science.
