About the position

As a Quantum Computing Research Scientist at Google, you will engage in cutting-edge research aimed at advancing quantum computing technologies. This role involves setting up large-scale tests, managing research projects, and applying the latest theories to develop innovative products and processes. You will also contribute to the research community by publishing findings and collaborating with academic institutions worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Study quantum error correction schemes using theory and simulation software.
  • Develop theory to validate and benchmark operations on logical qubits.
  • Study phases of matter and their connection to quantum fault tolerance.
  • Present research findings in technical talks and journal publications.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Physics, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with research agendas across multiple teams or projects.
  • Experience working on Quantum Computing.
  • One or more scientific publication submissions for conferences, journals, or public repositories.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience leading multiple research efforts and influencing research direction.
  • Experience with research in quantum computing, physics, or quantum error correction.
