About the position
Research Scientists at IBM drive the leading edge of quantum computing technologies with the industry's most advanced hardware and software. Join an elite team of quantum information theorists developing realistic error correction and preparing for fault tolerant quantum computation. A successful candidate has a strong theoretical understanding of quantum information science and error correction and a desire to impact hardware design and development. This position involves close collaboration between theory, experiment, and software teams, and also a high degree of autonomy. Candidates are expected to publish and present high-impact results and to work closely with other members of the team.
Requirements
- Proven record of research accomplishment.
- At least 5 years of experience in quantum computing theory
- Master's degree in physics, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
Nice-to-haves
- At least 5 years of experience in quantum computing, error correction, fault-tolerance, quantum algorithms, or quantum information theory
- Some programming experience preferred.
