About the position

The QuickSight Business Intelligence Developer at GDIT plays a crucial role in supporting the CMS Cloud team by developing business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions. This position focuses on ensuring that CMS and application owners have access to vital information for managing a secure and efficient hybrid cloud environment. The developer will leverage data analytics and visualization tools to create insights that drive decision-making and optimize cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Create datasets in Amazon Web Services (AWS) QuickSight and configure detailed dashboards.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources using SQL and DQL queries to identify trends and insights.
  • Implement proofs of concept using business intelligence and data visualization technologies.
  • Develop and enhance new or existing dashboards.
  • Use appropriate data visualization techniques to present complex information clearly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and address concerns.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to reporting and analytical tools.
  • Monitor and update existing reports to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of report specifications and methodologies.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve reporting processes and explore automation opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience in data analytics and business intelligence.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  • Strong SQL skills for analysis, validation, and verification of data.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and task tracking tools like Jira or Confluence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with AWS services including RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, Lambda, Athena, S3, Glue, or Lake Formation
  • Experience with Linux, Python, and Git.
