About the position

Perry Davis Associates, Inc. (PDA) is seeking a full-time Assistant Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant to join our team in Midtown Manhattan. This junior position is integral to our operations, providing essential support to the Controller and ensuring the smooth financial administration of our nonprofit clients. Since our establishment in 1986, we have been dedicated to offering comprehensive fundraising consulting services, and this role is pivotal in maintaining our high standards of service. The Assistant Bookkeeper will be responsible for handling all basic Quickbooks income and expense entries for a variety of nonprofit clients. This includes performing monthly bank reconciliations and producing financial reports as requested. The role also involves maintaining various tracking charts using Excel and Google Sheets, which are crucial for monitoring financial data and ensuring accuracy in reporting. Additionally, the Assistant will assist with annual tax and audit preparation, contributing to the overall financial health of our clients. General clerical duties will also be part of the responsibilities, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently. As needed, the Assistant will produce donor acknowledgement letters and emails, reinforcing our commitment to excellent client service and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with/support the Controller
  • Handle all basic Quickbooks income/expense entries for a variety of nonprofit clients

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Confident and fluent use of Google Drive
  • Advanced proficiency in Quickbooks software
  • Experience with financial data entry is a must
  • Ability to work independently while accurately following instructions
  • Possess a friendly and professional demeanor
