About the position

KBR is seeking a R&D Architect Support Engineer/Systems Engineer to join a dynamic systems engineering team supporting the NRO Ground Directorate (GED)/Advanced Ground Group (AGG) organization. This position is critical in supporting the Applied Research & Development (R&D) acquisition, integration, and test initiatives, with a specific focus on transitioning applications and mission capabilities to the operations environment for Multi-Intelligence hard intelligence problems. The successful candidate will be a technical member of the team, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of mission objectives. In this role, the engineer will provide day-to-day collaboration with the Government Customer, FFRDC teams, SETA, and GED development contractors, as well as external agency mission partners. The engineer will oversee and monitor development and integration activities, ensuring alignment of priorities and resources with US Government requirements and objectives. A key responsibility will be to analyze a wide variety of mission thread projects for their impact on the existing and planned system architecture, ensuring that decisions regarding AGG R&E Systems are consistent with an open-architecture construct. The engineer will also advise senior and mid-level US Government managers on acquisition decisions regarding a portfolio of AGG projects, support technical consultations, coordinate meetings, and prepare and present architecture and acquisition recommendation briefings. Establishing and maintaining the System View-1 (SV-1) Systems Interface Description document baseline will be essential, linking together the operational and systems architecture. This position requires a strong understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a focus on core systems engineering processes to support end-to-end mission and services closure.
