About the position

The R & D Engineer - Chemical Engineer position at Idaho National Laboratory involves working within the Fuel Cycle and Technology Division to develop innovative nuclear fuel cycle solutions. The role focuses on chemical separation technologies, modeling, and simulation of chemical processes, and the recovery of rare earth materials, contributing to advanced nuclear energy concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to nuclear fuel cycle design and development activities, focusing on radiochemistry and material recovery.
  • Publish work in customer-required reports and peer-reviewed journals.
  • Prepare, peer review, and deliver program plans and oral presentations related to INL spent fuel programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, or a Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, requiring US Citizenship.
