About the position
As an R&D Engineer I at Penumbra, you will be responsible for designing innovative medical devices aimed at addressing complex disease states. This role involves applying creative problem-solving skills throughout the design process, from initial concept to commercialization, ultimately impacting the lives of numerous patients.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively to design, prototype, and optimize medical devices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
- Create test protocols and conduct testing to mitigate clinical risk.
- Develop benchtop models to simulate complex anatomy and disease states.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source components and refine specifications.
- Originate documentation including CAD drawings, test protocols, and reports.
Requirements
- A passion for solving hands-on and multi-disciplinary technical design problems.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong engineering acumen and mechanical intuition.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly in writing and orally.
- High level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
