About the position
The R D Engineer II at Ansys is responsible for contributing to the development of software products and supporting systems. This role involves collaborating with a team to understand customer requirements, performing software development activities, and ensuring the quality of products through testing and bug verification. The position requires a strong background in engineering and software development, particularly in object-oriented programming and engineering simulations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
- Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
- Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
- Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
- Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
- Work under the general supervision of a development manager.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
- Experience with application development in an object-oriented language including C++, C#, and Java.
- Experience with software design and development methodologies including design patterns, SOLID principles, and RESTful programming.
- Experience with numerical analysis, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
- Knowledge of engineering simulations.
