About the position

The R D Engineer II at Ansys is responsible for contributing to the development of software products and supporting systems. This role involves collaborating with a team to understand customer requirements, performing software development activities, and ensuring the quality of products through testing and bug verification. The position requires a strong background in engineering and software development, particularly in object-oriented programming and engineering simulations.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
  • Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
  • Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  • Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
  • Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
  • Work under the general supervision of a development manager.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Experience with application development in an object-oriented language including C++, C#, and Java.
  • Experience with software design and development methodologies including design patterns, SOLID principles, and RESTful programming.
  • Experience with numerical analysis, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering simulations.
