About the position

The R D Engineer II at ANSYS, Inc. is responsible for contributing to the development of software products and supporting systems. This role involves collaborating with a team to understand customer requirements, performing development activities, and ensuring the quality of software through testing and documentation. The engineer will also engage in problem-solving for issues identified by QA or product support, while working under the supervision of a development manager.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
  • Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
  • Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  • Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
  • Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
  • Work under the general supervision of a development manager.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a related field and two years of experience in a related position.
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with numerical analysis and finite volume methods.
  • Experience with programming languages including C, C++, or Fortran.
  • Experience with segregated solution algorithms including SIMPLE, SIMPLEC, SIMPLER, or PISO.
  • Experience with Parallel programming or Git.
