About the position

The R&D Experimentation Project Coordinator II at 22nd Century Technologies, Inc. is a pivotal role designed to manage and pursue innovative solutions that align with business objectives and address challenges within the Technical team. This position requires an individual to independently lead experimentation projects involving external solutions, collaborating closely with the larger Technical team and bottling partners to drive innovation. The coordinator will work across multiple development groups to gather insights, model and test potential solutions, and design outputs from collective efforts. In this role, the individual will be responsible for testing hypotheses, designing and executing tests, experiments, proof-of-concepts, and pilots. They will analyze data, define key performance indicators (KPIs), draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations that promote the adoption of external innovations and support advancements in the company's Technical and Supply Chain Groups. The coordinator will also serve as a strategic partner in innovation, assessing new opportunities, influencing change, and developing new capabilities. The position involves managing and optimizing processes for the intake, review, and validation of ideas, visualizing concepts, and communicating designs. The coordinator will anticipate future demands related to people, technology, budget, and business activities, designing and implementing solutions to meet these needs. They will develop and manage roadmaps and schedules to deliver prototypes and proof of concepts, ensuring effective hand-offs to operational teams. Additionally, the coordinator will monitor innovation trends in the beverage industry to inform solution paths and supplement research findings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for solving complex technical problems.
  • Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with the larger Client System to manage experiments with external innovative solutions.
  • Independently lead experimentation projects with external solutions.
  • Collaborate across multiple development groups to gather insights and model/test potential solutions.
  • Design and run tests, experiments, proof-of-concepts, and pilots.
  • Analyze data and define KPIs to draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Manage and optimize processes for the intake, review, and validation of ideas.
  • Anticipate future demands related to people, technology, budget, and business activities.
  • Develop and manage roadmaps and schedules for prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Lead and direct cross-functional programs and projects of varied sizes and types concurrently.
  • Monitor innovation trends in the beverage industry to inform solution paths.

Requirements

  • A BS degree in Life Science, Engineering, Innovation, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within an innovation environment or R&D group.
  • Proven experience performing systems analysis and evaluation.
  • Expertise in agile methodology and delivering quality quickly.
  • Experience with digital technologies, modern software solutions, and architecture.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in managing multiple projects and programs.
  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with global team members.
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in occupational safety, sustainability, and quality are a plus.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Cross-industry experience bringing new ideas and perspectives.
