About the position

Hologic is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager in Research and Development (R&D) to lead and develop cohesive teams within its Surgical facility in Louisville, CO. This role involves overseeing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving product development from concept to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and technical skills, and will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead teams to resolve crucial issues and unique conditions.
• Hire, onboard, and train engineering personnel.
• Supervise and support programs of high complexity and scope, ensuring they are properly resourced to achieve project and business objectives.
• Develop and implement product development plans for new product concepts, following products through to manufacturing.
• Work closely with Quality to ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System and ensure products meet customer requirements as defined by sales and marketing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop methods and processes that facilitate decisions and improve results.
• Serve as a technical specialist, applying advanced concepts, principles, and methods to the organization.
• Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams to drive the best decisions for the business.
• Run department and staff meetings to ensure projects are on track and teams have the proper resources.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of work experience in the medical device or other regulated industry, with research and development experience.
• Proven ability to supervise, develop, and provide work direction to engineering staff.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating multiple major projects.
