About the position

As Finance Manager, R&D, you will be part of the Global R&D finance team reporting into the R&D Finance Director and will oversee the financial activities of R&D for Business Units (USA + Canada), Global R&D Enterprise Platform Functions (Consumer Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Clinical Development and Operational Excellence), and the largest R&D Center of Excellence (CoE) site for the company. Finance partnering with diverse and senior stakeholders across BUs R&D, global functions and the site leadership on reporting, forecasting, planning, cost control and investment decisions support driving growth.

Responsibilities

• Finance Partnering with multi-functions, brands/categories innovation teams, and the center of excellence of R&D to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making.
• Leadership support collaborating closely with senior leadership and extended leadership teams of R&D, supporting and influencing business and resourcing decisions.
• Financial reporting, planning, forecasting and analysis for the US/North America R&D, e2e R&D CoE and Global R&D Enterprise Platform Functions.
• Prepare and submit the Annual Business Plan, Long Range Plan and monthly rolling forecast. Lead financial reviews and presentations to Senior Stakeholders.
• Oversee and monitor R&D Innovation Spend. Drive monthly Project Spend Review meetings with each Category to track and challenge latest projections vs. Plan/CMF.
• Proactively collaborate with R&D, Procurement, HR and North America Finance to drive strategy, cost optimization, attainment of savings goals, and the mitigation of risks.
• Robust cost and headcount planning and control.
• Embed the return-on-investment framework and mindset across the R&D organization to drive value creation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
• Experienced in finance partnering role, or finance analyst with extensive stakeholder management experience, demonstrated ability to challenge and influence, being a true business/finance partner to the business.
• 5+ years of work experience to include forecasting, budgeting, business analysis, and management reporting, Annual Business planning.
• Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive analysis using financial data.
• Strong analytical skills and experience.
• Strong communicator, influencer and ability to effectively use negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Working in a matrix organization where many of the key players are senior.
• Ability to function as a key team member.
• Experience in interacting with all levels and functions (R&D, Procurement, HR, North American Finance) in the organization to influence actions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experienced in consumer goods or FMCG, with understanding of brands and/or innovation, in complex/matrixed environment and covering multiple markets.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA or local equivalent) or MBA.
• Experience supporting R&D business units.
