Responsibilities

  • Utilize background in cement and/or concrete materials mixing, testing and formulation for the development of decarbonized cement and concrete.
  • Perform and support the formation of cement and concrete structures including mixing, molding, testing and inspection throughout the process.
  • Modify and enhance the rheology and stability of cement with admixtures.
  • Conduct advanced testing on concrete structures.
  • Maintain records of all activities, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure that all necessary PPE are always worn, and that the work areas are clean and organized at end of the workday.
  • Stay updated with the latest best practices, tools, and technologies of the trade.
  • Provide observations made during the workflow and suggest improvements to the process.
  • Work independently, as well as with other team members within a laboratory setting.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in a lab or manufacturing environment OR a bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering.
  • Experience in the cement or concrete industry.
  • Experience with ASTM testing of cement and concrete.
  • Familiarity with admixtures and cement formulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and strong work ethic.
  • Problem solving, time management, and organization skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and safety conscious.
  • Team player.
