The R.I.S.E. Gen1 Program Coordinator at Seton Hall University plays a crucial role in supporting first-generation college students through various academic and developmental initiatives. This full-time position involves assisting the Program Director in the planning, implementation, oversight, and review of programming that includes academic support services, advisement, student development workshops, and the Gen 1 Summer program. The coordinator will also be responsible for student recruitment and enrollment, as well as retention and completion initiatives aimed at fostering a supportive environment for R.I.S.E. Gen1 students. In this role, the coordinator will maintain an advising caseload of R.I.S.E. Gen1 students, providing guidance and support to help them navigate their academic journey. Additionally, the coordinator will instruct a section of University Life, focusing on creating relevant student support programming that enhances the sense of belonging among students and aids in their academic and personal development. The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and tracking student retention and graduation rates, as well as the ability to interpret data, write reports, identify trends, and present findings effectively. The coordinator will also be tasked with creating assessments and reports for various programs, including student tutoring, the Academic Coaching program, and the Peer Mentoring program. Researching best practices regarding first-generation initiatives and assisting in the development of student support programming are also key responsibilities. Furthermore, the coordinator will assist in the selection and supervision of Peer Mentors and Peer Tutors, working collaboratively with the R.I.S.E. Student Support Services program, staff, faculty, and external community partners to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
