About the position

The Field System Administrator II role at CDW involves providing essential support to the SMIT Program, which is a significant IT services initiative for the Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. The position requires the FSA to manage day-to-day operations, mentor team members, and ensure best practices are followed. The role is primarily focused on supporting print devices and video teleconferencing equipment, requiring both technical expertise and strong communication skills to liaise with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support activities for print devices and video teleconferencing equipment in an enterprise environment, including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proactively manage service tickets and update service-related activities in a timely manner.
  • Lead, implement, and troubleshoot complex print and VTC projects across multiple locations.
  • Serve as a liaison with clients and vendors on administrative and technical matters.
  • Address escalated break/fix issues and maintain communication with customers and management.
  • Consult with leadership to identify inventory stocking levels and reorder points.
  • Clearly communicate service offerings and performance expectations to leadership.
  • Advise customers of changes in hardware or software that are incompatible or non-standard.
  • Manage to metrics to ensure SLA compliance and maintain customer, partner, and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance (must have prior to hire)
  • Security+ Certification (must have prior to hire)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working with an OEM or Third-Party provider of printer repair services
  • Intermediate understanding of the appropriate physical hardware
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to compose detailed reports and work-related manuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience working with an OEM or Third-Party provider of printer repair services
  • Printer Certifications (HP, Xerox)
  • Technical certifications associated with the chosen professional track (ITIL, A+, Network+)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of print service offerings
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access and SQL
  • CompTIA PDI Certification
  • IT Print Certifications (HP Preferred or Xerox)
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field.
