About the position

Prof. Eun-Hye Yoo in the Department of Geography seeks a part-time project coordinator. This position supports and directly reports to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the East side of Buffalo Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Project. The project coordinator will assist the PI in planning, organizing, and executing day-to-day project-related activities including but not limited to: communicating between project collaborators, staff, and participants; organizing on-site and online meetings and events; completing any necessary paperwork, forms, and documents to meet project deadlines; and maintaining all files and records involved with the project. The project coordinator will also support large-scale monitoring efforts including the setup and maintenance of low-cost sensors and data management, and correspondence to requests for project-generated data and software. The day-to-day activities and community engagement support require an emphasis on electronic dissemination/communication tools, such as Zoom, listservs, electronic and in-person communication, among others. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the project and facilitating effective communication among all stakeholders involved.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Principal Investigator in planning and organizing project activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of project management experience.
  • Organized, efficient, and motivated individual.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to learn e-communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to meet transportation requirements.

  • Self-initiative and leadership skills.
  • Ability to excel with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience with surveying and air pollution monitoring.
  • Strong computer skills including survey and database management.
  • Experience with online communication and dissemination.
