About the position

The R3 Career Coach position at Metropolitan Family Services is a full-time role focused on empowering individuals and families through workforce development and case management services. The coach will engage with clients to assess their vocational skills, provide job readiness training, and facilitate connections to employment opportunities. This role is integral to the Restore, Reinvest, Renew (R3) initiative, aiming to enhance economic stability and self-sufficiency among at-risk populations in Merrionette Park.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach to engage targeted Self-Sufficiency caseload.
  • Perform situational assessments and vocational explorations.
  • Refer clients to job readiness training, external workforce partners, or direct job placement.
  • Observe and document consumers' vocational assets and limitations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Employment Plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with referral sources, community agencies, and providers.
  • Assist non-working adults in obtaining permanent, unsubsidized jobs in high-demand industries.
  • Monitor retention of employment placements at 30, 60, 90, and 180 days.
  • Handle emergency and crisis situations with residents.
  • Work within contract, grant, and program requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education and six years of experience in workforce development/case management services for at-risk populations, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Communications, or a related field and three years of experience in workforce development/case management services for at-risk populations, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and goal setting, required.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Workforce Development Professional Certificate preferred or must secure it within 1 year of employment.
  • Knowledge of Excel to track economic self-sufficiency data.
