About the position

The Racial Equity Policy and Research Analyst at the State of Vermont plays a crucial role in advancing equity and social justice within the state's operations. This position involves conducting policy and data analysis to inform the development of statutes and policies that support the statewide equity plan. The Analyst will work closely with various branches of state government and external entities to ensure that equity principles are integrated into research and policy analysis, focusing on areas such as population growth, environmental justice, and workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct policy and data analysis to inform the development of statutes and informal policies.
  • Support the statewide equity plan through effective programming and research.
  • Apply equity principles to traditional research methods with analytical rigor.
  • Engage with the three branches of state government and external entities as needed.
  • Participate in and track the work of various committees and workgroups, often requiring evening hours.
