About the position

The Radar Systems Engineer II position at Raytheon involves working within the Systems Engineering Directorate to support the integration and analysis of radar systems, specifically the SPY-6 and GhostEye families. The role focuses on developing radar processing algorithms, software requirements, and conducting statistical analysis of radar performance data. The engineer will collaborate with systems and software engineers to identify issues, propose solutions, and present findings to leadership and customers. This position requires on-site work in Tewksbury, MA, and may involve occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Development of concepts of operations for radar systems
  • Radar processing algorithm development
  • Radar software requirements development
  • Statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data
  • Analysis tool development in support of problem identification and resolution
  • Collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions
  • Present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice-to-haves

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Experience with design, development, and analysis of radar system and software architectures
  • Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments
  • Design experience in radar system areas such as antenna, receiver/exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, multi-sensor track management and data fusion
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS
  • Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++
  • Experience with technical writing and oral presentations
  • Masters/PhD in a STEM field
