About the position

The Radar Systems Engineer will be responsible for the development and testing of airborne safety systems, with a specific focus on secondary surveillance systems and the monitoring testbed. This role requires expertise in radar systems, particularly Mode S secondary radar systems, and involves significant analysis and testing to ensure the effectiveness of these systems in the context of U.S. civilian Air Traffic Control.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of airborne safety systems.
  • Analyze and test secondary surveillance systems.
  • Develop the monitoring testbed for radar systems.
  • Focus on Mode S secondary radar systems and related technologies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in radar systems engineering.
  • Experience with Mode S radar systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. civilian Air Traffic Control system is a plus.
  • Proficiency in radar data analysis and radar systems architecture.
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in radar data processing.
  • Knowledge of ground, maritime, air, and space radar modeling.
  • Development experience on a Linux platform.
  • Familiarity with GIT/GITHUB.
  • Experience in RF and radar signal processing development.
  • Knowledge of air traffic control radar systems.
