About the position
The Radiation Therapist at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) plays a crucial role in treating cancer and other diseases by administering radiation treatments according to established treatment plans. This position requires maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions while adhering to safety guidelines. The therapist will work under the direction of a Dosimetrist, Radiation Therapy Physicist, and/or Radiation Oncologist, ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer radiation treatments to patients according to treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions.
- Adhere to safety responsibilities and guidelines during treatment administration.
- Assess patient needs and conditions effectively.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Associate's degree preferred.
- One year of experience in radiation therapy highly preferred.
- Experience with hematology/oncology/radiation oncology patients is a plus.
- Valid Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT/RTT) license required.
- ARRT Certified, BLS Certified, CPR Certified.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in a multi-site healthcare environment.
