About the position

Primary responsibilities include safely and accurately operating equipment to deliver ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases as well as applying ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency when operating linear accelerator; CT simulator; and Impac Verification System.
  • Remains knowledgeable of current treatment protocols.
  • Complies with all safety requirements.
  • Responsible for appropriately billing radiation oncology procedures.
  • Utilizes immobilization devices to aid in the daily reproduction of the treatment fields.
  • Performs daily warm up procedures for linear accelerator including maintaining documentation of daily machine output.
  • Obtains initial and subsequent verification films on all patients under treatment.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities for optimal outcomes.
  • Performs periodic patient chart review according to departmental policy.
  • Responsible for the development of patient set up information in the patient record.
  • Responsible for precepting Radiation Oncology students.
  • Assists in the education and orientation of new staff and students.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program
  • Board Certified by ARRT or eligible
  • NH Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy License (MIRT)
