About the position

As a Radiation Therapist at AG Globe Services, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality radiation therapy to patients in a clinical setting. This position is a full-time contract role based in Winchester, MA, with a duration of 13 weeks and the possibility of extension. The work schedule consists of 40 hours per week, with shifts running from 7 AM to 5 PM, including a weekend rotation. You will be responsible for administering radiation treatments, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining equipment used in the therapy process. Your expertise will contribute to the overall patient care experience, and you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of radiation therapy protocols and maintain compliance with state regulations. You will also be responsible for educating patients about the treatment process, addressing their concerns, and providing emotional support throughout their therapy journey. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families will be essential in fostering a supportive environment during their treatment. Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during treatment sessions.
  • Maintain and operate radiation therapy equipment according to safety standards.
  • Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and expected outcomes.
  • Monitor patients for any side effects or complications during therapy.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Document patient treatment and progress accurately in medical records.
  • Participate in quality assurance and equipment maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
  • Registry eligible for ARRT certification.
  • Minimum of six months of Radiation Oncology Therapy experience or equivalent clinical experience obtained through completion of a Radiation Therapy Program.
  • Must obtain ARRT certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be temporarily licensed by the State of Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) and obtain a permanent license within 12 months of hire.
  • Trained in equipment maintenance.
  • General understanding of Physics, Anatomy, and Physiology.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards in the absence of preferred skills.
