About the position

As a Radio Communications Specialist at iNovex Information Systems, you will be responsible for providing senior-level program management, administrative, and engineering support for communications-based projects that are critical to national security. This role is essential in maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of our country's most important missions, both domestically and internationally. You will be part of a high-performing team dedicated to enhancing communication infrastructure and ensuring reliable radio connectivity across various operations. In this position, you will utilize your expertise in configuring and maintaining radio equipment, troubleshooting communication issues, and collaborating with teams to optimize radio systems. Your role will involve ensuring seamless and efficient communication within the organization, which is vital for operational success. You will be expected to possess a solid understanding of tactical communications systems, including direct experience with ICOM, Motorola, and Harris equipment, as well as familiarity with Sponsor systems such as BASIS and GENESIS. The Senior Radio Communications Specialist will also be responsible for adhering to security and safety standards, understanding procurement processes, and performing specialized equipment installations and modifications. You will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate technical procedures clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the requirements and results of site surveys. Your willingness to travel, including extended TDYs in potentially hazardous environments, is crucial for this role, as is your ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level program management and engineering support for communications-based projects.
  • Configure and maintain radio equipment to ensure seamless communication.
  • Troubleshoot communication issues and optimize radio systems in collaboration with teams.
  • Adhere to security and safety standards, including counterintelligence and communications policies.
  • Perform specialized equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades independently.
  • Test, identify, and resolve tier 1 and tier 2 equipment and system problems.
  • Communicate technical procedures and results of site surveys to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Travel up to 50% OCONUS and 10% CONUS as required by customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in tactical communications projects.
  • Direct experience with ICOM, Motorola, and Harris equipment.
  • Solid background in installation procedures and field training of personnel.
  • Ability to explain technical procedures clearly and accurately.
  • Excellent knowledge of tactical systems and customer requirements.
  • Ability to adhere to security and safety standards and applicable communications policies.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and ability to perform equipment installations.
  • Ability to work at heights and complete Fall Protection training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willingness to obtain weapons certification if not already certified.
  • Tower Climbing Certification within one year of start date.
  • Experience with Sponsor systems including BASIS and GENESIS.
