About the position

The Radio Frequency Automation Engineering Intern will support the automation process on the Advantest 93K RF test system at GlobalFoundries. This role is designed for students pursuing a Master's degree in RF electrical engineering or a related field, providing hands-on experience in software development and automation in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

• Understand the current software and methods used in the mmWave calibration process.
• Identify areas of improvement in the software or method of calibration.
• Review proposals for improvement in the calibration process.
• Implement new Java code and automation to improve the calibration process.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a MS in RF electrical engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Fluency in English (written & verbal).
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior related internship or co-op experience.
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning & organizational skills.
• Experience using a network analyzer, spectrum analyzer and mmWave test equipment.
• Strong experience in Java programming and using Linux operating systems.
