About the position
The Automation Engineering Intern at GlobalFoundries will work closely with software and mmWave Test Engineers to enhance the automation processes on the Advantest 93K RF test system. This internship aims to provide students with practical experience in the semiconductor industry, focusing on improving calibration processes through Java programming and automation techniques.
Responsibilities
- Understand the current software and methods used in the mmWave calibration process
- Identify areas of improvement in the software or method of calibration
- Review proposals for improvement in the calibration process
- Implement new Java code and automation to improve the calibration process
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a MS in RF electrical engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing
- Fluency in English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Experience using a network analyzer, spectrum analyzer and mmWave test equipment
- Strong experience in Java programming and using Linux operating systems.
