About the position

As a Radio Frequency Hardware Engineer at Dell Technologies, you will lead the innovation, design, and development of RF sub-systems and solutions for wireless communication in devices. This role involves strategic planning, innovative design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure best-in-class wireless performance. You will be responsible for aligning RF architecture with business objectives and technology strategy, driving innovation, and generating intellectual property.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of RF architecture for wireless sub-systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology strategy.
  • Drive innovation and intellectual property generation.
  • Design, simulate, integrate and validate solutions for complex wireless technologies including Cellular (UMTS/LTE/5GNR), GPS, Wi-Fi, BT, and NFC.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Design Groups (EDG) and System Architects (SA) to design and optimize platform-level performance strategies.
  • Generate architecture requirements documentation and drive design specifications for multi-generational products.
  • Drive suppliers and ODM partners to execute front-end design concepts and support development/execution teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge in EM or RF theory, and knowledge around RF interference components and sub-systems in a PC or tablet product.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery with the integration of multi-radio solutions such as Cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi, BT, and NFC technologies.
  • Strong problem solving and leadership skills with the ability to drive teams towards issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficient in RF simulation and design tools, with extensive experience in RF system integration and PCB design/layout, schematic design creation and review.
  • Ability to debug and characterize RF desense issues, with hands-on experience including lab equipment such as Network/Spectrum analyzers and Wireless communication emulators.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in working with suppliers or ODM partners in Asia.
  • Familiar with regulatory & carrier requirements (FCC, CE, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.).
