The Radiologic Technologist position at Advocate Aurora Health involves performing a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopy, while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities

  • Perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations while ensuring radiation protection and safety.
  • Identify patients and label images, ensuring accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician's orders.
  • Process images to ensure quality of radiographs and call back patients as necessary.
  • Assist and consult with physicians, working independently outside the department with providers.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and document billing codes for procedures performed.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff.
  • Assist with accreditation efforts and perform various patient positioning and transporting duties.

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 6 months unless exempted by department leader.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety, anatomy, and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and possess intermediate computer skills.
