About the position
This position involves working as a technologist to assist physicians with patients undergoing various invasive cardiac procedures, including diagnostic heart catheterization, interventional cardiac procedures, electrophysiological procedures, device implantations, and peripheral vascular procedures. The role requires adherence to medical protocols and the ability to monitor and document patient conditions accurately during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and prepare medications under direct Physician order for procedures.
- Observe sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for physician and lab personnel.
- Continuously monitor patient's ECG and blood pressure, documenting and advising the Physician of any activity.
- Answer the phone in the cardiac catheterization or vascular laboratory courteously and timely.
- Coordinate the laboratory's procedural schedule with patient demand and physician schedules.
- Act as the laboratory's code team by initiating resuscitative measures under physician supervision.
- Document all procedures performed and utilize the inventory control system for billing and inventory counts.
Requirements
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography for West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations.
- Current West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologist License or applicable state licensure.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire for West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography within 6 months of hire for Pennsylvania locations.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire for Pennsylvania locations.
- Two years of experience in a Catheterization or Hybrid lab.
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
