About the position

The position involves performing diagnostic and CT imaging exams for various patient types, including outpatients, inpatients, and emergency room patients. The role requires assisting radiologists with image-guided invasive procedures, managing patient care during imaging processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The candidate will work collaboratively with radiology peers and may be required to cover shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and CT imaging exams including general, portables, OR/C-arm imaging, and fluoroscopy.
  • Assist Radiologist with CT image guided invasive procedures.
  • Start IVs and educate patients on pre, during, and post IV contrast injections.
  • Confirm provider orders and verify patient information before proceeding with exams.
  • Obtain and document relevant patient medical history in EMR and PACS.
  • Prepare patients for exams by changing attire and explaining procedures.
  • Participate in patient experience and customer service initiatives.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the room and department, restocking supplies and linens as needed.
  • Transport patients safely using appropriate equipment.
  • Utilize proper imaging safety principles and techniques to ensure accurate results.
  • Maintain compliance with State and TJC standards.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment or other issues to appropriate staff.

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and licensed by the Indiana State Department of Health.
  • 1 year experience as a diagnostic radiographer preferred.
  • 3 months clinical experience in CT preferred.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • CPR training or current basic life support card.

Nice-to-haves

  • ARRT CT certification preferred.
  • Training and proficiency in additional modality (C.T.) preferred.
