About the position

The Radiologic Technologist PRN at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures, assisting patients, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role emphasizes whole-person care, focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of patients while providing high-quality imaging services in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic imaging procedures and positions patients appropriately.
• Assists patients during imaging procedures and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice.
• Completes clerical duties including answering phones, filing, and scheduling.
• Educates patients about the imaging procedures and screens for contrast allergies.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and properly, minimizing radiation exposure.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control standards.
• Documents patient history and explains procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Performs radiology duties in various departments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent two years of experience in a related field.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Science program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of Radiologic Technology training and A.R.R.T. registration.
• General Radiographer state license as required by state (KS LRT).
