About The Position

The Radiology Scheduler at Urgent Care Plus Springfield Clinic is responsible for managing the scheduling of various radiology procedures, ensuring accurate patient information verification, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves communication with patients and healthcare providers, as well as adherence to clinic policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer and telephone skills.
  • Ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment.
  • Self-motivated and able to problem solve.
  • Clear, articulate speaking voice.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office environment.
  • Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and PACS.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls for multiple Radiology modalities.
  • Verify patient information, including insurance and pre-certification information.
  • Schedule appointments using the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Communicate pending pre-certification information issues with technologists and Radiology management.
  • Explain patient prep and dispense prep kits as needed.
  • Task providers' offices when necessary.
  • Complete reminder calls for future appointments.
  • Ensure all outside images are obtained.
  • Build worker's compensation cases in IDX when applicable.
  • Manage all image release including using PACS to burn CDs and DVDs for patient transport.
  • Schedule interpreter services.
  • Check in outpatients for Radiology procedures.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
