About the position

The Radiology Tech CT Simulator position at UNM Medical Group, Inc. is designed to prepare individuals for a career in Radiation Therapy. This full-time role involves performing radiologic, ultrasound, and CT procedures under general supervision, while also requiring the selected candidate to attend a Radiation Therapy school within one to two years of hire. The position is not intended for continuous employment, as it is a preparatory role for future certification as a Radiation Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed radiologic, ultrasound, and/or CT procedures.
• Prepare and administer various chemical mixtures as appropriate to the procedures being carried out.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring proper care and promoting workplace safety.
• Assist in determining stock quantities for purchase and perform general office duties such as scheduling patients and recording procedure codes.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and assist them post-procedure.
• Follow prescribed procedures in the administration of radiography, ultrasound, or CT scans, including calibrating equipment and arranging support devices.
• Prepare written status reports and maintain records of work performed.
• Calibrate equipment and prepare necessary materials in accordance with procedural requirements.
• Clean and disinfect equipment according to sterile procedures and standards.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Certification.
• State of NM RRT License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• No experience required, but completed degree from an accredited institution may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
