About the position
The Imaging Technician at Frye Regional Medical Center is responsible for performing various imaging procedures in accordance with established standards of practice. This role involves patient education, preparation and administration of contrast media, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring the quality of imaging results. The technician will also troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain safety standards during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Review patient history and physician's orders.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as ordered.
- Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
- Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
Requirements
- Associate's degree required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
