About the position

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our ambulatory surgery center as a PRN (as needed) team member. This role is crucial in providing high-quality diagnostic radiographic procedures under the direction of a physician, ensuring compliance with established protocols to promote positive patient outcomes. As a Radiology Tech, you will be responsible for preparing patients for exams and procedures, assessing their condition before and during radiologic procedures, and ensuring that all necessary supplies and positioning aids are assembled according to the physician's preference card. You will also be tasked with testing and monitoring your equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition, documenting records accurately, and confirming that all individuals in the room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray equipment. Communication is key in this role, as you will need to relay information about your patient's status to other staff members involved in their care. Additionally, you will perform maintenance on your instruments and equipment, adhering to cleaning, care, storage, and calibration procedures. This position is not only about technical skills but also about creating positive patient interactions and upholding the HCA mission to commit to the care and improvement of human life.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for exams and procedures.
  • Assesses patient condition prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
  • Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures according to physician's preference card.
  • Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition.
  • Documents records and other forms accurately, adhering to approved policies/procedures.
  • Confirms that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray.
  • Communicates information about patient's status to other staff responsible for patient care.
  • Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment by adhering to cleaning care, storage, and calibration procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of radiology required.
  • 1+ years' experience as a Radiology Technician required, preferably in an operating room or surgery center setting.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (ARRT) Required.
  • BLS required (Within 30-Days of Start).
  • State Radiology Technician license required.
