About the position

The Registered Radiology Technologist performs medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician. As an Imaging Tech I Diagnostic Radiology, you need to know how to access, manage and update patient medical records through the Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System. You will screen and explain imaging and safety procedures to patients before any imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation. Additionally, you will position patients on the imaging table to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by a Physician and following protocols. You will also administer contrast media orally or via intravenous administration according to Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines, monitor patients during procedures, and practice universal safety precautions, radiation protection techniques, and magnetic field education to minimize exposure to patient, self, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Access, manage and update patient medical records through Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System.
  • Screen and explain imaging and safety procedures to patients before any imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Position patient on imaging table to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by a Physician and following protocols.
  • Administer contrast media orally or via intravenous administration according to Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines.
  • Monitor patients during procedures either through direct contact, by the use of two-way voice communication or through control room window and/or closed circuit TV screen.
  • Practice universal safety precautions, radiation protection techniques and magnetic field education to minimize exposure to patient, self and staff.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or diploma from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training, required
  • Current ARRT certification, required
  • Current Montana state licensure, required
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
