About the position

The Radiology Technologist PRN at Overland Park Regional Medical Center is responsible for operating X-ray equipment to perform radiographic examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role emphasizes patient care, safety, and adherence to established procedures, while also contributing to a supportive team environment dedicated to high-quality healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation.
• Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system, maintaining image quality and correct patient data/history.
• Turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean/sterilize equipment.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA accredited program with a certificate or degree in Radiographic Technology.
• Adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits bi-annually.
• ARRT Registered with ARRT - RT(R) or Registry eligible (must be registered within one year of completing program).
• BCLS required within 30 days of start date.
