About the position

The position involves performing radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures. The role requires a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The individual will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, maintaining equipment, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates behaviors that reflect understanding and support of the organizational values and mission.
  • Acquires, maintains, and shares current competencies in performance of job responsibilities.
  • Performs all exams within personal licensed scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of all radiographic equipment used for diagnostic radiology and intra-procedural imaging.
  • Performs visual inspection of equipment, identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor.
  • Pleasantly greets patients, confirming their identification and introductions.
  • Completely explains examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
  • Recognizes emergency situations; initiates code procedures and administers first aid or CPR as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee and hospital information.
  • Functions productively, responsibly and exhibits adaptability with the team.
  • Communicates pertinent information to all employees and customers in a timely fashion.
  • Performs all routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures including surgical and portable examinations as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) and achieve certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) within 90 days of graduation.
  • Completed American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One year Radiologic Technologist experience to include clinical rotation in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center setting preferred.
  • Ability to respond to and withstand frequent crisis situations.
