About the position
The position involves performing radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures. The role requires a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The individual will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, maintaining equipment, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates behaviors that reflect understanding and support of the organizational values and mission.
- Acquires, maintains, and shares current competencies in performance of job responsibilities.
- Performs all exams within personal licensed scope of practice.
- Demonstrates a complete working knowledge of all radiographic equipment used for diagnostic radiology and intra-procedural imaging.
- Performs visual inspection of equipment, identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor.
- Pleasantly greets patients, confirming their identification and introductions.
- Completely explains examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
- Recognizes emergency situations; initiates code procedures and administers first aid or CPR as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee and hospital information.
- Functions productively, responsibly and exhibits adaptability with the team.
- Communicates pertinent information to all employees and customers in a timely fashion.
- Performs all routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures including surgical and portable examinations as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required.
- Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) and achieve certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) within 90 days of graduation.
- Completed American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- One year Radiologic Technologist experience to include clinical rotation in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center setting preferred.
- Ability to respond to and withstand frequent crisis situations.
