About the position

Under the direction of the Physician, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic examinations. This role involves assessing patients, assisting the Physician in performing fluoroscopic procedures, preparing films for interpretation, and maintaining patients and departmental records, supplies, and equipment. The position also includes responsibilities such as verifying Physician orders, warming the x-ray machine following standard protocols, checking for any malfunctions, and notifying the supervisor as needed. The technologist will utilize proper exposure factors to perform radiographic exams following established protocols and will process radiographs accordingly. Respecting patient privacy is crucial, as the x-ray door should remain closed except when moving patients in and out of the room. Additionally, the technologist will ensure that a workflow program is established, followed, and maintained, and will establish/enforce a system component maintenance schedule for cleaning and service. Troubleshooting system errors as they arise and responding to end-user questions and requests for service in a timely and efficient manner are also key responsibilities. Understanding the role in relation to National Patient Safety Goals is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of accredited Imaging/Radiology program.
  • Active Florida Radiology Technician/Technologist License required.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
  • Strong proficiency in computer-based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remote offices as well as independently.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment.
