About the position

The Radiology Technologist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures, assisting patients, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role emphasizes whole-person care, focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of patients while providing high-quality imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic imaging procedures and positions patients accordingly.
• Assists patients during imaging procedures and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice.
• Adheres to hospital compliance plans and regulatory standards.
• Educates patients about the imaging procedures and screens for contrast allergies.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and properly, minimizing radiation exposure.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper infection control standards.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties such as scheduling and record-keeping.
• Monitors patient conditions and ensures their comfort, safety, and privacy during procedures.
• Performs radiology duties in various departments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Carries out other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent two years of experience in a related field.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Science program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of Radiologic Technology training and A.R.R.T. registration.
• General Radiographer state license as required by state (KS LRT).
