About the position
The Rail Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety and efficiency of switching crews in the rail yard. This role involves enforcing company policies and ensuring compliance with AAR and FRA standards while maintaining productivity and safety. The supervisor will communicate work assignments to crews and complete necessary reports for management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise switch crews
- Ensure compliance with company, AAR, and FRA policies and procedures
- Communicate with crews regarding work assignments
- Complete reports and communicate with management
- Perform other terminal job functions as required
Requirements
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Locomotive Engineer / Conductor Certification
- General knowledge of railroad operations is a plus
- Ability to delegate, prioritize, and complete assigned duties
- Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office programs)
- Must have better than high school education or equal work experience
- Must have worked continuously in the last 6 months
- Valid Driver's license
- Ability to pass background check
- Ability to work off shift and weekends
