About the position

The General Sales Manager at Rally Point Harley-Davidson is responsible for leading the sales team in achieving sales goals for new and preowned motorcycles, while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves developing sales strategies, managing inventory, and fostering a positive team culture within the dealership. The position requires a strong understanding of the motorcycle industry and the Harley-Davidson brand, along with proven leadership skills to inspire and motivate the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve company goals for the sales of new and preowned motorcycles.
  • Lead, mentor, train, and inspire the sales team to meet or surpass sales goals while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary to improve results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Work in partnership with the marketing department to design and execute promotional campaigns and events that drive traffic and increase sales.
  • Manage inventory of new and preowned motorcycles and related products, ensuring optimal stock levels based on sales trends and customer demand.
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring profitability and compliance with dealership policies and legal requirements.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and new product releases to effectively position the dealership in the marketplace.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance & Insurance (F&I) department to present customers with financing options that meet their needs.
  • Participate in Harley-Davidson training and certification programs to stay current with product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Foster a culture of honesty, integrity, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in automotive or motorcycle sales management.
  • Sales experience with at least 2 years in leading and supervising a sales team.
  • Solid understanding of the Harley-Davidson brand and motorcycle industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Business Applications.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with inventory management and financial planning.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends for informed decision-making.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
  • Must have a valid motorcycle endorsement on driver's license and ability to ride a motorcycle.
  • Must have strong ethical standards and a professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to work with others respectfully.
