About the position

The Assistant Manager at Ralph Lauren is responsible for ensuring a memorable customer shopping experience while driving sales and profitability for the store. This role involves overseeing sales performance, managing staff, and maintaining a welcoming environment that fosters customer loyalty. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager to develop budgets, set sales goals, and implement visual merchandising strategies that align with the brand's image.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales and profit performance in assigned store or department.
  • Ensure that sales and margin goals are met and monitor performance with the General Manager/Department Manager.
  • Establish individual sales goals for associates and supervise sales staff to maximize performance.
  • Maintain a welcoming environment that generates customer traffic and builds loyalty by exceeding customer expectations.
  • Coach and mentor staff to implement initiatives that support exceptional customer service standards.
  • Provide continual feedback to Buyers and Planners regarding high sales and profit potential items.
  • Execute visual presentation initiatives that support merchandise presentation and maintain the desired store environment.
  • Achieve store shrinkage goals and implement loss prevention procedures.
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop staff, creating programs to motivate personnel to increase sales and transactions.
  • Work with Senior Management to execute promotional strategies that support sales and marketing objectives.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of Retail Management Experience, preferably within the luxury retail market.
  • Ability to build and maintain an environment projecting high taste and sophistication consistent with Polo's lifestyle philosophy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
