About the position

The Diesel Technician position at Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Ram involves performing repairs and services on a variety of vehicles, particularly those from the RAM, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and ProMaster lines. Technicians are expected to have a strong understanding of automotive systems and manufacturer certifications, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards. This role requires effective communication with service advisors and participation in training novice technicians.

Responsibilities

• Understand and complete complex work necessary for the repair and service of vehicles.
• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding repairs needed and additional work required.
• Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required.
• Conduct accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle.
• Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair orders.
• Conduct road tests to determine work needed and confirm successful completion of repairs.
• Achieve targeted goals by completing work, notations, and time-keeping for warranty repair orders.
• Participate in training and developing novice team members/technicians.
• Complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred.
• Automotive Technical or Trade School Degree is preferred.
• Willingness to work a minimum of 45-50 hours per week.
• Basic tools required to service the line of products.
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in specialized areas preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
